Traveling is well-established as being both spiritually and emotionally healthy. However, between flying in a congested airplane and encountering a near-infinite number of foreign bacteria, traveling can be very unhealthy physically if you’re not prepared. In order to ensure you’re body’s safe enough to combat the health risks associated with international travel, you’ll need to make sure you have the medicine, information, and vaccinations necessary to make your trip enjoyable.

At AFC Urgent Care in New Britain, we administer both travel vaccinations and travel medicine. The medication we provide travel-bound patients with includes antimalarials and anti-anti-diahrreal’s. Even merely drinking the tap water in a foreign country is enough to disrupt your body.

In order to visit various countries, international travel regulations require travelers to receive different vaccinations prior to arriving in certain countries. For instance, a Yellow Fever vaccination is required in order to travel to South America or parts of Southern Africa.

Visit us any day of the week to take advantage of our travel medicine services. We look forward to helping you reach the vacation destination of your dreams!

*Zika Virus information:

As of now there is no vaccine for Zika virus. We recommend you take these preventative measures if traveling to a Zika affected country or state. Our providers are well trained to answer any questions you may have about safety precautions involving Zika virus.
